As a company, Mochadocs strives to solve for our customers in a global-first way. When it comes to data, we understand the increasing concerns regarding where it’s  hosted and stored -- particularly given the changing regulatory landscape in Europe, in addition to different cultural norms.

In January 2013, we launched our first regional data centre in the European Economic Area and all new Mochadocs customers have been eligible to use the EU Data centre since that launch.

If you're a current Mochadocs customer interested in migrating your data to a different data centre, reach out to your customer success manager to find out more.

Please note that transfers of Mochadocs customer data from the EU to the US are still covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses in our Data Processing Agreement. You can learn more about this and how HubSpot is supporting customers by reading our Terms and Regional Data Hosting Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

When will existing non-EU customers and partners be eglible to migrate to a non-EU data center?

The Mochadocs team is working with individual customers who are interested in migrating their data from the EU data centre to the non-EU data centre. Reach out to your customer success manager to find out more information about eligibility.

What is included in this migration solution?

Mochadocs's data migration tool works with all Mochadocs products and includes historical data.

What are the benefits of data migration to customers?

The primary benefits of migrating data for customers and partners are:

  • It will allow them to store data in the non-EU
  • It will improve latency and reliability for customers who are far from the EU

Why is this happening now?

Our non-european customers have been asking for regional data storage for a few years, and the importance of this has increased as regulations have changed. With a regulatory landscape that can change quickly and strong cultural norms around privacy, customers feel more stable with in-region data storage. Additionally, serving customers with data storage in their region improves both reliability and latency.

For many customers, not storing their data in their own region could increase friction in their sales and partnership conversations. Our new Data Centre Location policy will allow these customers to reduce worry and cultural norms, and get back to focusing on their jobs.

What are the implications for customers not migrating their data?

Transfers of Mochadocs data from the EU to the customers own regions are still covered by the SCCs in our Data Processing Agreement, regardless of what data centre a customer uses. Customers should work with their own Legal representatives to advise on their unique situation. Customers will see no change in their current product performance.

Are there additional data centers planned for other regions?

At present, we don’t have any immediate plans for additional data centres.

My business is not based in the EU or the US. Should I migrate my data or will you have a data center open in my area?

At present, we are unable to state whether or not we will have a data centre  in your location.

The decision as to whether or not you migrate your data to a location outside the EU data centre should be based on your own business objectives.
